What is a Redirect / Forward / Alias?
The terms redirect and forward are interchangeable.
It is a way to forward email coming to your domain to another email
address someplace else. For example, you can redirect
all mail coming to you@YourDomain.com to instantly be forwarded to
another email address that you already use, like
you2004@hotmail.com.
The term Alias is used to describe multiple names for the
same mailbox. For example, you have a mailbox,
you@YourDomain.com. You can setup multiple email address to
come to the same mailbox, so other names, like webmaster@, sales@,
info@ all come to your you@YourDomain.com email address.
Note: Your default email address is yourdomain@yourdomain.com This
is where all of your email will be sent to, unless other
configurations take priority (such as mailboxes, redirects or
aliases). |
