Preserve YOUR precious family history on video.
We will help you preserve your family memories on
video tape and DVD, a gift that lasts for generations!
We will interview you at a place of your choosing and
record it using a video camera and professional lighting. In
our studio, we edit the video, overlay still photos, titles and add
music. After a review process by you, we create DVD's or video
tapes for you.
We provide a list of possible interview questions
ahead of time so you have time to think about them prior to the
interview. This video is for YOU, so you are welcome to
discuss anything you'd like on the video. Our questions are
only meant as a guide and the interviewer will gently lead you from
topic to topic.
Don't let YOUR family stories fade away.
Precious Seconds services help you capture your
family stories and storytellers on video, with personal video
biographies you can enjoy now and preserve for generations.
Pictures say 1000 words. Moving video with all the smiles,
mannerisms and the sounds of a voice say so much more!
"I wish I had Grandpa on video"
Often times we think of questions of someone after it
is too late. People tend to ask themselves questions, like
"how did he and Grandma actually meet?" or "what stories can Grandma
tell about her parents or grandparents?" With some planning, we can
help capture these memories and preserve them so they can be enjoyed
for years.

Q: Don't some people get nervous in front of a video
camera?
A: We know that some people are not comfortable in
front of a camera. We make as comfortable as possible.
Think of this as just a conversation; the camera is just another
person observing. We find that people generally forget all
about the camera within minutes as they get excited telling their
stories.
Q: How long does it take?
A: Generally we will talk for a while on the phone to understand
your expectations and help plan your video. The video tape
interview generally takes 2-4 hours. It can then take 2-4
weeks to get the video edited.
Q: When is the best time to do a video?
A: This answer is up to you! A lot of personal history
videos are given to family for holidays or birthdays.
Naturally there is a little more urgency for those clients who are
in hospice or may have very major/risky surgery scheduled.
Q: Where will the interview be done?
A: Generally the interview is done in your home in surroundings
that are most comfortable to you. We primarily serve the Twin
Cities metropolitan area and will travel outside that area if
needed. Any expense incurred for travel outside the twin
cities will be billed at actual cost.
Q: What if I mess up?
A: This is a taped interview that will be edited. If you
want to start over on an answer or need to take a sip of water, we
simply edit parts out so the finished DVD only has the words of your
"good take."
Q: How long is the finished video?
A: Generally the finished video, once we're done editing, is
normally in the 30-60 minute range.
Q: How much does this cost?
A: All the videos are custom produced and made. The
requirements for each video are often different. We have
packages that range from $500 for a basic photo montage video to $1500 for
a full 30-60 minute taped interview with editing, titles and photos.
Q: Do you offer group discounts?
A: Yes, if you coordinate a group of 5 or more interviews, like a
group from church or common living area, we offer a 15% discount on
each package.
